The first three students to complete the Adult Education Diploma in Carmelite Studies
Organised by the Carmelite Institute of Britain and Ireland (CIBI) were conferred with their Diplomas on October 6th in the Milltown Institute. Two students were from England together with Sr. Cecilia from the Carmelite Monastery in Delgany.
It was a wonderful occasion beginning with a very prayerful Eucharistic liturgy, after which the graduates processed to the Theatre where they were presented with their certificates by the Vice-Chancellor.
We, who accompanied Sr. Cecilia, were bursting with pride and we were not sure if we imagined it- but we thought we heard “Ah” from the assembled audience in the hall as she made her way to the stage. One of the lecturers was overheard saying “This needs to be recorded”
The conferring ceremony was followed by a reception and afterwards we took plenty of photos of a truly memorable afternoon.
